While leading a $35MM+ International Division of protective packaging products with continued growth of 30%+ annually.  Mr. Kaminski developed and implemented a 5 year New Business and New Product Development Plan resulting in a competitive new machine installation platform for the Industrial and Retail Market Arenas, a retail “Go to Market Strategy”, a $40 million National Account Sales Plan, and a multitude of continuous improvements through Value Stream Mapping resulting in 25% cost reduction in materials and labor.       Among his significant previous positions, Michael served as the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Engineering and R&D for FP International, a global supplier of packaging materials and equipment, in Redwood City, CA, reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board.  Mr. Kaminski was responsible for the design, development and manufacturing of expanded polystyrene and air inflatable HDPE/LDPE products as well as extrusion/application equipment, and for leading the International Purchasing, Design, Quality Assurance, Customer Systems Group, Field Service and Process/Manufacturing Teams to strategic success.       Previous to this, Michael had a long-term successful career at Volex, Inc., a global supplier of custom cable assemblies, fiber optics and electronics packaging, in Fremont, CA, as Director of Engineering, for New Product Development; and General Manager of the Fiber Optics Technologies Group.       Mr. Kaminski currently holds two U.S. patents (#5,953,815 and #11/739,939).  He is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE).  He has degrees from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA (MSTM), Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA (MBA), and Villanova University, Villanova, PA (BSME).

  • Global Director, AirPouch Operations at Automated Packaging Systems

    Reporting to the President/Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer in the role of Global Business and Operations Director; lead a $40MM+ International Division of protective packaging products with full P&L responsibility. • Developed and implemented a 5 year New Business and New Product Development Plan resulting in a competitive new machine installation platform • Modularized customer machine accessories resulting in 30% materials and 25% assembly labor savings • Installed global network of low-cost labor center strategic partners resulting in 30% material/labor savings annually • Successfully achieved a 10% return on underperforming field assets, resulting in $1.75MM one year capital equipment cost savings/asset off-set • Created a Director level network of end-user decision makers with an upside of $30+MM potential new business contacts • As strategic partner with Regional Business Directors on new business development, participated directly with major National and International accounts • Championed twelve new product developments resulting in a new consumer based machine product, extruded inflatable plastic packaging films and Industrial based labor cost saving machine accessories.

    Reporting to the Chairman of the Board, led International Engineering/R&D, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Customer Systems Group, Field Service, Process/Manufacturing, and Operations Teams to design, develop and manufacture expanded polystyrene and air inflatable HDPE/LDPE products as well as extrusion/application equipment (U3 Pak’R, PRO Pak’R, Mini Pak’R). Full P&L responsibility for $110M business with EBIDTA >$5MM. • Deployed a retail market product through corporate web store and third party fulfillment and logistics partnership, resulting in first year revenues of $8M • Initiated low-cost labor center strategic partners resulting in 60% material/labor savings annually • Developed and deployed corporate ISO 9001 Quality Manual and business process flow leading to full certification • Developed strategic product marketing and business plans for U.S., Europe and Asia business units to drive international expansion through organic growth, leading to significant new business in Asia. • Negotiated fulfillment, call center, transportation, logistics (3PL) and outsourced manufacturing contracts • A strategic partner with Sales Team on new business development, participated directly in meetings with major national accounts • As chief negotiator on all capital equipment and plastic resin, achieved $3M/year savings on resin purchases by purchasing on “spot market”
